Russel Delroy from the Avocado Growers Association says Manjimup and Pemberton growers have already encountered frosty conditions this season.
He says while there has been little crop damage so far, predicted dry conditions combined with cold temperatures are bad news for growers.
"This year it has forecast to be very dry and whenever its dry we have those clear nights and that's when we get a lot of frost, so it is a real concern," he said.
"Once we get below -3, -4 [degrees], there's not a lot that's going to save you."
